Colorectal cancer is the fourth most common cancer amongst males and third most common cancer by incidence in females in Turkey (Türkiye Halk Sağlığı Kurumu). Inflammation has frequently been implicated as a tumor promoting factor in the colon cancer and has recently been denoted as a 'tumor enabling' characteristic. Our laboratory is interested in understanding the importance of various inflammatory pathways in development of colorectal cancer as well as in cellular differentiation.
